Auto Body Technician

Salary: 24.00 CAD per hour
Work experience required: 4 to 5 years

Job Description
-Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
-Clean and maintain the workspace
-Replace front-end components, body components, doors, and frame, and underbody components
-File, grind and sand body surfaces to be repaired
-Hammer out dents, buckles, and defects using blocks and hammers
-Remove damaged fenders, panels, and grills and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
-Repair or replace interior components
-Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents, and seams
-Follow and complete Quality Control documents provided to the team by the manager
-Pre-fit parts on vehicles before completing the repairs
-Ensure that all tools are being used safely

Requirements
- Highschool Completion Certificate

- Experience: A minimum of 4 years of experience is required. If the candidate does not have 4 years of experience, then an apprenticeship program in the field of minimum 3-years is required.
- Driver’s license class

Tools/ Provided tools for the first 3 months:
-hammers and dollies
-set of screwdrivers (5-10 pieces)
-set of pry bars (5-10 pieces)
-set of pliers (5-10 pieces)
-set of vise grips (5-10 pieces)
-sanding blocks
-basic necessary air tools (grinder, belt sander, palm 6'' sander)
-basic necessary power tools (electric ratchet)
-personal protective equipment
-any other hand tool that is required by the body man to complete his repairs

Housing: The employer initially purchases a house or apartment.

Important Information: The work schedule is 5 days per week. Shifts are usually from Monday to Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm. However, flexibility on schedule is required. Overtime and work on weekends may be required depending on the business needs.
