Position: HEAVY DUTY MECHANICS
Salary: $52 per hour
Type: Full-time
Location: Alberta, Canada
Contract Type: Year-round

Required Work Experience: 5 years or more

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS

-Higschool Diploma
-Job letters or references from past employers or clients covering a minimum 5-year experience period.

SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

1) Welding experience

2) Experience of ANY of the following Diesel Engine Repair Specialization:

Fuel injection system, Exhaust system, Cooling system, Lubrication system, Hydraulic transmissions, Off-road vehicle tires and wheels.
Mechanical Maintenance and Repair Specialization: Mechanical transmissions, Drive trains, and final drives.

3) Experience of ANY of the following Powered Equipment Repair Specialization: Hydraulic-operated working attachments.

4) MUST HAVE experience with ANY of the following Equipment/Vehicle Specialization: 
-Trucks
-Skid Steer
-Loaders, Excavators
-Drill Rigs
-Forklift
-Generators
-Compressors
-Telehandlers
-BOOM LIFT
-Manlift (cherrypickers), and other lifting devices.


TASKS AND RESOPONSIBILITIES:

-Troubleshoot, operate, and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions.
-Diagnose issues using computerized testing equipment for engines, electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
-Adjust and repair equipment independently, conducting major repairs using diagnostic tools.
-Test repaired equipment to meet manufacturers' specifications.
-Perform maintenance work, including oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and more.
-Service attachments and working tools, replacing assorted parts of heavy equipment.
-Verify and repair emission control systems, ensuring equipment meets quality standards.
-Instruct apprentices and maintain inventory.
-Keep maintenance reports, documentation, and a consistent schedule for preventative maintenance.
-Perform routine maintenance and major repairs on fleet equipment independently.
-Assist with customer damage estimates and repairs.
-Produce timely service reports and repair logs.
-Enter and review work orders and complete part ordering via the fleet management system.
-Diagnose areas for significant wear or tear on equipment.
-Maintain a clean and organized work area.
-Assist in training other mechanics and follow all company procedures.

-Flexibility on schedule required.
-12-hour shift (11.50 paid), 7 days on and 7 days off with ½ hour of unpaid lunch.
-Work on weekends and overnights may be required.
