Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada
Type: Full time

Salary: $43.00 per hour
Work Experience Required: 5 years or more

Job Description

-Troubleshoot, operate, and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions.
-Diagnose issues using computerized and other testing equipment, covering internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
-Adjust and repair equipment, replace defective parts, and perform major repairs independently.
-Test repaired equipment to meet manufacturers' specifications.
-Conduct maintenance work, including oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements, and assorted services.
-Service attachments and working tools, reconditioning and replacing assorted parts of heavy equipment.
-Verify and repair emission control systems, ensuring equipment meets quality and efficiency standards.
-Instruct apprentices, order parts, maintain inventory, and keep detailed maintenance reports.
-Develop and maintain a consistent schedule for preventative maintenance.
-Assist shop lead with customer damage estimates and repairs.
-Produce timely service reports and repair logs.
-Enter and review work orders, complete part ordering via fleet management system.
-Diagnose problem areas for significant wear or tear on the equipment.
-Maintain a clean and organized work area.
-Assist in training “C” and “B” Mechanics under the shop lead’s direction.
-Take service calls and dispatch Field Service Mechanic in the absence of the shop lead.
-Follow all company’s procedures and protocols.
 

Requirements

-Education: Completion of secondary school.
-Experience: Completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program or a combination of over four years of work experience and industry courses in heavy equipment repair.
-Welding Experience: Asset.
-Driver’s License: Required.
-Skills: Strong electrical hydraulics diagnosis skills or Tier 4 emissions systems.
-Major Work Area: Hydraulic transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and undercarriage systems.
-Specializations: Diesel Engine Repair, Mechanical Maintenance and Repair, Powered Equipment Repair.
-Equipment Experience: Power Generation, Climate Control (AC/heating), Pumps.
