Job Description
-Troubleshoot and inspect equipment for faults and malfunctions.
-Diagnose issues using computerized and other testing equipment.
-Adjust and repair equipment, replace defective parts, and perform major repairs independently.
-Test repaired equipment for proper performance.
-Conduct maintenance work, including oil changes, lubrication, tire replacements, and assorted services.
-Service attachments and working tools, recondition and replace assorted parts of heavy equipment.
-Verify and repair emission control systems, ensuring they meet quality standards.
-Instruct apprentices, order parts, maintain inventory, and keep detailed maintenance reports.
-Develop and maintain a consistent schedule for preventative maintenance.
-Assist shop lead with customer damage estimates and repairs.
-Produce timely service reports and repair logs.
-Diagnose problem areas for significant wear or tear on the equipment.
-Diagnose internal combustion engines, DC electrical systems, propane systems, hydraulics, and fuel systems.
REQUIREMENTS
-Education: Completion of secondary school.
-Experience: Minimum of three years in the trade, welding experience is an asset.
-Driver’s License: Required.
-Skills: Strong electrical hydraulics diagnosis skills or Tier 4 emissions systems.
-Major Work Area: Hydraulic transmissions, electrical systems, suspension, and undercarriage systems.
-Specializations: Diesel Engine Repair, Mechanical Maintenance and Repair, Powered Equipment Repair.
-Equipment Experience: Forklift, Air Compressors, Mobile Elevated Work Platform (MEWP), Power Generation, Climate Control (AC/heating), Pumps.
