Transport Refrigeration Mechanic
- Job Description
-Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing components on containers, truck, and trailer refrigeration units.
-Maintaining transport refrigeration unit on containers, trucks, and trailers by performing diagnostics using scanners, electronic test equipment, and onboard computers, completing preventive maintenance, component replacement, and service to refrigeration equipment.
-Maintains transport containers, truck, and trailer refrigeration units, and APUs by reviewing shop orders; listening to operator complaints; repairing failures; removing, replacing, testing for Freon leaks, assembling, and installing parts and components involving soldering , welding, and the use of refrigeration equipment. Installing various new units on containers, trailers, trucks, van
-College Diploma/Certificate in a mechanical trade
-Valid driver’s license
-5 years experience in transport refrigeration or Reefer Containers
-Proven experience in Welding
Advantages and Preferences - but not required:
-Ozone Depletion Certificate
-Specific Truck: Thermo King Refrigeration Containers
-Lifting 50-75 lbs with or without assistance
-Climbing up to 8 ft with a ladder.
-Kneeling, squatting, bending, pushing/pulling
-Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery, and wet conditions
