Job Description

• -Install or replace roofing materials (asphalt shingles, wood shingles, masonry, or baked clay) on sloped roofs
• -Apply waterproof coatings to various surfaces
• -Install, repair, or replace roofing systems using various materials
• -Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications
• -Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers
• -Erect and install scaffolding and other working platforms
• -Specialize in installing GAF shingles and metal roofs

Requirements

• Education: Some secondary education required
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience or completion of a related apprenticeship program or post-secondary education certificate
• Working Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding; Handling heavy loads (up to 45 kg/100 lbs); work at heights
• Tools: Provided by the employer

• -Salary: $23.00 hourly, 30 – 56.5 hours per week. Overtime and weekend work may be required
• -Regular work schedule: Monday to Friday. 7-12-hour shifts between 7 am and 7 pm. Shifts may vary depending on the client’s needs. Guaranteed at least 30 hours of work per week regardless of weather conditions
• -Reimbursement of airfare after successful completion of the 90-day probationary period
